It has come to my attention that today I became the “beneficiary” of a Citizens United-permitted PAC in Texas that has delivered over $48,000 worth of mailers, social media ads, and robocalls attacking Antonio Delgado, and comparing him unfavorably to me. This is my temporary response while I prepare a press release, and I’d appreciate it if you all share it — especially if you see people who support me who have been tricked into liking and sharing the posts. And if you know anyone at the Delgado campaign, please share it with them as well.

STOP! This is THE CANDIDATE. Me, Steve Greenfield. This message is not from me, my campaign, or any PAC supporting me. It is not from the Green Party or any PAC supporting us. This is from Republicans.

I denounce both the message and the messengers. Please share this message from me to all your contacts, and all local press. Please pass it on to the Delgado campaign and any local Democratic Committee with which you have contact.

This is my formal statement on the matter, and I will be sending out a press release as soon as I can calm down enough to use vocabulary that the media can report.

However, everything on it is true. When you write a statement, be sure to point out what I hope is true, that you want PACs to be banned (even though unions have them — though of course they can’t keep up with the wealth of the 1%). Outrage is good at who is meddling, and they have an agenda.

I just voted for you and other Greens. The Democrats voted to take away the federal guarantee on multiemployer pensions in 2014. That means that my pension in the next few years will run out of money that I was counting on to support my spouse and me in retirement. Unfortunately I became disabled and can’t go back into the workforce to try to earn more to compensate. And that’s on top of the war crimes, the policies that are likely to end civilization soon, etc. So I don’t regret it. I’ve spent hours hosting forums, etc. that Delgado was part of and also have talked at length to him and his staff. He says nothing specific or progressive. Public Option would actually raise our costs and isn’t a way to “gradually transition to ‘universal healthcare'”. What about those of us who can’t afford healthcare now? Who can’t afford medigap plans, 20% copays, and drugs. .. Try to find the words “climate change” on Delgado’s website. Try to find OFF Act. H.R. 676. Any specific.
